Lens Hero

I love my E-P1 and I think to add some more functionality, I want some lenses for Christmas. With all the different lenses though and with the problem of being cash strapped too, I needed some practical advice. That advice came from LensHero.com! Though it is fairly new, it was well polished but it still needed some tweaks.
I liked the user interface of the site. It was easy enough to narrow down choices. That may be a good thing but also a stressing factor to anyone new to lenses. I mean there are a lot of choices of types of lenses but some overlap like wide angle and also landscape; another is portraits and tele-photos. These things would confuse a new user. Also, I did not see any options to use an adapter for micro four-thirds lenses so that I can use lenses from canon, nikon or other lenses. I still recommend LensHero.com to anyone with a dslr and I think the overall experience is great! Thanks LensHero.com

Google Android How It Passed iPhone Sales in U.S.

According to The NPD Group during the first quarter smartphones with the Android operating system has overtaken iPhone sales. This makes the Android 2nd in terms of operating systems used by smartphones. The one who tops is the Blackberry operating system then the Apple iPhone operating system. It has been noted that the increased sales were spurred by a campaign by Verizon of selling all smartphones as a buy-one-get-one-free deal. While for the iPhone which is due for an update this summer does not have any such similar promotions by AT&T. It interests me that people are spurred to switch to a smartphone and also they would jump for an operating system just because it was on sale. It also to note that the iPhone has just two models to choose and it is a once in a year upgrade. Android phones are abundant with the different manufacturers using the operating system on their handsets. Rim meanwhile has a lot of phones to choose from. Both Android and Blackberries are also sold with all carriers unlike the iPhone. It is funny to note that the Windows Mobile operating system is not even mentioned. As we see more phones using an OS we can also see which applications would be developed and how the networks can handle these handsets getting more bandwidth to use their features. We should analyze how network applications would be changed within the coming years.

100 Youtube Tools

This is about a post on my Professor Larry Press's blog about 100 useful Youtube tools.

This is a good resource for people who watch or make their own videos. It has link to the toolbox and in that webpage it also have brief descriptions of the tools on it. I chose this blog post because I utilize Youtube and most classes use Youtube now. It fits into the video processing of my class in CIS 275
